I just bought a pretzel at the mall and it was 10 frackening dollars. Do you know how much work I put into a 10 dollar commission. If you tried to pay me with a pretzel I'd eat you instead.

I don't think my bean art is worth more than 10 dollars but it's worth more than a pretzel. So I have to raise my prices in order to buy multiple pretzels for the same job.

But i don't want to. So I just hide my commissions in the depths of the blog instead and hope nobody finds them.

Only way I'd accept money being a thing is if we stopped caring about things about debt and the deficit. Out of money? Just print more! Stop imposing consequences through debt! Debt is a social construct! Get rid of debt, and money would be at least slightly more tolerable. I'd still prefer it be abolished, but I'd take a heavy devaluation of money over what we've got now! Nothing can be worse than what we've got now!

i think part of the reason the tcb kickstarter does not have the numbers that a project like this usually would is simply people are broke as shit. for the people that live in the us, the financial shitshow that is living is only getting worse with student loans coming back into place and medical care costing what it does, and international people who want to give but can't because of travel reasons and all the other things that go into that (im from the us and stupid i dunno), its a really difficult situation. i'm privleged enough to be able to afford one of the middle tiers of the kickstarter, but that's just because i still live at home and have spent all my time for the past month taking as many shifts as possibl to try to save to move out, which has given me some wiggle room for spending. but that's not everyone's case. obviously this is not tcb's fault, but i do think this might feed into why they are not currently on track for meeting the goal.

tldr money is stupid and nobody has it right now and that means the rich keep getting richer and art is suffering because of it

im hoping to make at least $150.00 USD this month in preparation for november's car insurance, and then we still need more than $300.00 for rent and utilities

i have a few hundred in my savings, but id rather not use it for rent just in case one of us needs to go to the doctor ;w; or like if something broke like my cane or my shower chair !! itd need to be replaced pretty quickly

ill update this post as necessary but thanks to all who are supporting me, my artwork, and my family with commissions :) you are much appreciated
